What Is a Capillary Tube?

How Does It Work?

As refrigerant leaves the condenser and enters the capillary tube, its pressure drops suddenly due to the tube's very small diameter. This pressure drop occurs not because of an orifice, but because of the narrow, restricted bore of the capillary tube itself.
